A Bread Lover’s Paradise: Johnny Bruschetta New Bistro in Florence

Johnny Bruschetta

Bruchetteria in Florence

I had the recent opportunity through a fantastic yelp event to taste the wonders of this newly opened bistro, Johnny Bruschetta. It is centrally located near the Sant’Ambrogio/Santa Croce area of Florence.

I can’t help but be in love with a place that has bruschetta by the meter!

Hip Decor

The concept and decor of the place was styled just right. I liked it right away with various wooden cutting boards and chalkboards lining the walls. The place feels immediately warm and cozy. While you wait, you are served a welcome glass of prosecco and you know that we’re off to a great start!

Don’t you love places that give you that little extra touch when you arrive? I know I do.

Fabulous Food

The dishes are very abundant in portion and if you want to leave room for dessert (which I highly suggest you do), don’t order too much, as you will fill up before you know it! I mean, just look at this huge meat and cheese platter – my favorite was the pistachio pecorino cheese with artisan honey.

Oh yes, my palate is watering again just thinking about it again.

Homemade Bread

The bread for the bruschetta is homemade and toasted to perfection, being thinner than traditional Tuscan bread it felt lighter… making it easier to eat more! They also serve gluten-free options, so be sure to ask while ordering. The bruschetta with grilled vegetables and melted pecorino was divine!

Decadent Dessert

Go for the cheesecake, they switch up the toppings based on what fruit is currently in season. I tried the cheesecake with fresh fig compote and I gobbled it up in record time… it was *that* good.

Service with a Smile

Daniele (the face of the bistro’s logo), was not only friendly but, super helpful with explaining everything on the menu. You can tell that a business will do well when you see the passion behind the owners. The entire staff had on similar plaid shirts, suspenders and the male staff had beards. Now, how fun is that!

Two thumbs up Johnny Bruschetta.
