Hallo Munich!

10 April 2013 - Munich Trip Eating Pretzels

Chelsea was so sweet and brought us a few of these delicious pretzels or brezn when she picked us up at the airport…what a great way to start our trip! These gorgeous lovelies can be found for €.50 at Viktualienmarkt.

If you are craving some of your own delicious pretzels while in Florence…get on down to LIDL (the one on Via Benedetto Dei, 21) and pick some up in their bakery section. Please note: this is the only LIDL in town that has a fresh baked goods’ section.
Price: 1 pretzel is €.39.

Julienne and Miles had a great time, even if they had their moments of getting used to each other…I don’t think either of them were ready for 24/7 quality time with another toddler or maybe just jealous to see their moms playing with another baby full-time!

Juli had several firsts this trip…crawling through a tunnel to riding her first toy car! Thanks for showing her how it’s done Miles!

Oh my heaven cheddar. I don’t think I usually eat a lot of cheddar back home in NY, but like good peanut butter, I tend to crave what I can’t get in Italy.
Tasted so good with pretzels!

In Florence, there are only two places I know of where you can locate some cheddar and it doesn’t come cheap. You can occasionally find a block of it at ViviMarket or buy slices of it from The Hard Rock Cafe. I am not sure I am willing to fork over € 10-20 to get my cheddar fix. I will need to remind myself to bring back more than one package next time!

We were so spoiled. Here is a look at some of the mouth-watering homemade meals Chelsea and Niko cooked up during our stay…you’re both amazing and our tummies thank you! p.s. Niko, I need me that barbecue pizza recipe.

10 April 2013 - Homemade food in Munich

On our second day we got falafels from Sababa in Viktualienmarkt. I was so busy eating that I didn’t have time to take a photo! All the ingredients were fresh and the falafel plate was huge. If you’re ever in Munich, definitely check it out.

Two thumbs up Sababa!

I miss eating sushi, good sushi. So I was obviously giddy when Chelsea suggested we get delivery from Sushi bar.

Two thumbs up Sushi bar!

Something that really amazed me was finding a diaper changing area inside of the drugstore DM in Munich. They did not only have a changing table, but they supplied diapers, wipes and large paper covers to put down on the table. Next to the diaper station, they offered drinking water as well.

I think I stood there in awe for a bit…before I changed Julienne. Now, only if Florence can get on this wagon!
